BAGHDAD, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- It is a race against time. Medics are shuffling piles of swab samples waiting for COVID-19 testing in a Chinese-built lab in Iraq.
UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka called for more attention to women's contributions to COVID-19 response and recovery, as well as better global cooperation to build a more inclusive and equal world.
Still, it will be necessary to establish a clear framework for relations between China and the United States, given the current complex situation of ties, he said.
PHNOM PENH, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- The free trade agreement (FTA) between Cambodia and China will undoubtedly promote stronger trade and investment ties between the two countries, Cambodia's Commerce Minister Pan Sorasak said in a recent interview with Chinese media.
Iraq has been suffering fragile health systems due to years of conflicts and violence. Before the Chinese-built lab went into operation, the Central Public Health Laboratory in Baghdad was the only place to conduct PCR testing, facing mounting pressure to test samples across the war-torn country.
"It is certainly something that we can achieve together," he said.
China's U.S. policy is always consistent and stable, and in the meantime, China is also prepared for possible bumps and storms ahead, Wang said during an exclusive interview with Xinhua.
"The choices we're making today will shape not only relations between our two great countries, but also the future of the world. So we have to make the right choices. We have to base ourselves on the long-term interests of our two peoples and of the world," he said.
"Foreign companies, including European ones, were part of the story of China's development, and we believe they will continue to be part of the successful story of China's development and win-win cooperation," he added.
Noting that the United States and Russia are having "very important negotiations" on some existing nuke control treaties, such as the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, Cui said the treaties are "extremely important for international strategic stability."
Wang added that as a result, bilateral ties have become one of the most deeply interwoven relationships in the world with broadest cooperation areas and most extensive common interests. "No one can deny these facts."
